September 2020 Favourites

Well where has September gone? It doesn't feel like two minutes ago I was waiting for my birthday now we are heading towards Halloween (which we could happily skip for my liking). September might have flown by but I have rediscovered some old favourites whilst discovering some new ones too. So here are what make up my favourites for the month of September...

Fashion

Nike Air Force 1's

I honestly think I have worn a different pair of sneakers once or twice throughout September that is simply because I have certainly fallen in love with my Nike Air Force 1's. They are just so easy to style and are super comfortable for walking around in. Plus it doesn't matter if it is raining as I don't have to worry about ruining them too much. With me doing a fair bit of walking recently these have been perfect and haven't rubbed once.

Champion Hoodie

Do you ever look at an item and think to yourself when did I buy that? well when I rediscovered this Champion hoodie that was the case however, I am so glad past me did buy it as it is so comfortable. The colour is totally different to what I would usually wear but honestly I love it as I need to opt for different colours every now and again.

Lifestyle

Spending Time With Nephew

With me still not been back at work full time I have had plenty of time to spend with my nephew again, which is fantastic because he really is a little character. It is amazing seeing how much he changes just over night and I am actually glad I aren't in full time at the moment as I am glad I aren't missing out on seeing him so much.

My Birthday

At the beginning of the month it was my birthday. It was the perfect day of me and Liam just enjoying the day together then having a little get together with my family. I was well and truly spoilt and just had a fantastic time which after what has been going on this year was just what was needed.

Making Small Changes Around The House

September seems to be the month where we have made a few changes, we changed a few bits around in the games room, added some bits to the spare room and even got new bookcases and repurposed the old ones. It is nice just seeing everything taking shape again.

Health & fitness

Online Coaching

Throughout September I have been having a month of online coaching which I won't go into too much detail on as I have a new post coming soon. However, what makes this a favourite is that I am seeing progress and it is nice having someone there to motivated me and hold me accountable.

So there you have it those are my favourites from September. What are your favourites from September 2020?

Weekly Round Up #37

Another week has flown by and it was a pretty productive one. Plenty of bits have been completed and to be honest it was just an overall great week as there was something a bit different involved. So here is how the week went.

Monday

Monday ended up as a shopping day, I am still on the hunt for some of my autumn wardrobe essentials but I did manage to get me and Liam a few jumpers each.

Tuesday

Tuesday was a very productive day. It was a day just sat at my desk getting jobs done and ticked off. It was nice just having a day again that was fully dedicated to being sat working on blog posts, in fact I actually surprised myself with how much I got done. I really need to set days aside like this again especially seen as my weekends are now freed up.

Wednesday

Wednesday was food shop & seeing my nephew day, it was great and was nice to get away from the desk for a while. Then it was a trip to Argos for me & Liam to collect our new weights and exercise bike.

Thursday

Thursday was back to the office for me and to be honest it was nice, I am actually enjoying being in the office as it feels like there is a little bit of normality back.

Friday

Friday was a long day I had an early start as me and my dad were going on a site visit for work. It was a day mainly spent in the car but it was fun. Thanks to the early start though as soon as I got home I went to bed.

Saturday

Saturday was another shopping trip where I still couldn't find what I was looking for but we did get a Taco Bell. As soon as we got home I ended up going on the exercise bike for an hour, taking some blog pics and then just relaxing for the day.

Sunday

Sunday was a bit more of a productive day, I was up at a reasonable time and did some blog bits then I went for my hair cutting before heading back to my desk to work on even more blog posts. It was the perfect way to round off the week.

So here is what I had been doing last week...

Watching:  Again it has just been a week of watching YouTube.

Reading: I managed a few pages but just didn't have the time to read as much as I would have liked.

Listening to: I mainly listened to a lot of podcasts throughout the week with a little bit of Alex Lahey thrown into the mix.

This week I want to have another productive week in terms of blogging. I also want to smash an hour on the exercise bike each day and get back on track with my weight loss journey. I am also hoping to try get back into a bit of a skincare routine this week.

Styling Grey Sweatpants.. The Easy Way

Whenever I have bought sweatpants in the past I have opted for black as I thought they fit me and suited me better but recently I picked up a grey slim fit pair from Primark for just £9. Honestly I just bought these for something different in my wardrobe as I wanted to be comfortable on some long journeys I have coming up but honestly I will be wearing them for a lot more now as they are just so comfortable and fit nice. Even my mum and sister complimented me on them and it isn't often they do that. So here is how I plan on styling these sweatpants...

First up we have a look way out of my comfort zone as I never tend to go for a white t-shirt due to my size. But lately I have decided just to go for whatever I want and not let my current size hold me back. I love how this Weekend Offender t-shirt looks with the slim sweatpants and through in the Nike Air Force 1's the whole look just looks tied together and actually flows really well. I actually like how the grey and white work together so maybe it is time to buy more white t-shirts.

Next up we have one of my favourites paired with the grey sweatpants and Jordan's... a printed black t-shirt. The print on the black t-shirt adds something extra and stand out to the outfit and the black and white sneakers fit the outfit really well, it just works together. The sweatpants stop just above the sneakers so you can fully show them off but the main standout is going to be what print is on the t-shirt so make it a good one.  I have a whole section in my wardrobe of black printed t-shirts so I certainly have plenty of options to style these sweatpants with.

The final of the 3 ways to style the sweatpants could easily be my favourite. Just by adding colour the simple grey sweatpants end up part of a standout outfit. With the colder weather arriving you are going to need a hoodie or jacket but if you don't fancy wearing an all grey tracksuit style why not add colour? This blue Champion hoodie is absolutely perfect as it is a brighter colour to what I would usually wear but works well with the grey. Team these items up with my Nike React's which have plenty of colours worked into them and you have a much brighter option than going all white or all black. I am really wanting to add more colour to my outfits and thanks to these sweatpants I have found a great way to do it.

There you have it those are my 3 ways I am currently styling my grey sweatpants. After having these for a few month now and wearing them plenty of times I think it is safe to say I am converted and I will no longer just be buying black sweatpants but now I will definitely be picking up more grey pairs.

How do you style your grey sweatpants? Got any good ways of pairing them up?

The Wardrobe Essentials Series : The Jackets Everyone Needs

So to carry on the wardrobe essentials series today we have the jackets you should definitely be looking at adding to your collection if they aren't already there. We have already covered the footwear, tops & bottoms and now we are going to be looking at all the jackets that are perfect for different situations you might find yourself in throughout the year.

I have been caught out so many times in the future by not wearing the correct sort of jacket for the occasion or the weather. Living in the UK you can head out on a nice looking day and be caught in a downpour just an hour later, plus winters are definitely cold and you are going to want a jacket that is going to keep you nice and warm if you are heading out on those winter days, similarly you are going to want something lightweight that you can throw in your car or bag on those warmer days just as a bit of a precaution as you never know when that weather is going to turn. So here are the jackets that I believe you should have in your wardrobe to make sure you are always set for whatever the day might hold...

Hoodies

Some people might not class a hoodie as a jacket but to be honest I wear them as a jacket especially in the summer time so they have made this list. There are plenty of options out there for hoodies as you can get them plain or printed so they stand out or you can have them in a zip up version so there is certainly something for everyone. Personally I actually own a variety of hoodies (far more than is needed) but take a look around find ones that suit your style and you are good to go. I tend to wear my hoodies for laying, lounging and those cooler summer days. I only have a few zip up ones though as I do prefer over the head ones as I find they suit my style better and are generally just comfier. I will be doing a post in the future about my favourite hoodies and my favourite places to buy them so keep an eye out for that.

Denim Jackets

You just can't beat a denim jacket and for me a dark denim and a light denim one are staples for any wardrobe as they are really easy to style and can really give off a different vibe to your outfit. There are plenty of options out there for different styles of denim jackets as you can get them nice and plain, with patches added or with a distressed look. Personally in my collection I have a nice plain light denim jacket and a dark denim one with a Sherpa lining in the collar which is fantastic for the colder days team this up with some jeans and suitable footwear and you will have the perfect outfit (styling posts also coming in the future). The best part is you don't have to pay a fortune for a good quality jacket either as UK high street stores seem to have some great options available.

Smart Jacket

So many times I have needed a smarter jacket for a smarter occasion but haven't had an option to hand so a few years ago I invested in a jacket from Next and it has become one of my most warn jackets in the colder weather. It is a nice black material and is a pretty good length and just fits so well for the style I go for when I am going out. Granted it isn't waterproof but it does keep me warm whilst I am out and about whilst not ruining my outfit. There are plenty of smart jackets available at high street or high end stores so there is something for your style you just have to look around as I did. Even if you invest in a more expensive smart jacket the investment will definitely be worth it in the long run.

Lightweight Jacket

In the spring or summer here in the UK it can drop quite chilly or can rain at any given moment so a nice lightweight jacket is a must have whether you just have it in the car with you or in your bag if you don't need it at that particular moment. Don't always be fooled into going the designer route though as I actually used to have an Adidas jacket that was light weight and could easily be folded into my backpack but I got caught in one downpour and realised it wasn't waterproof at all. Some of my best lightweight jackets have come from Primark or H&M so you don't have to spend a fortune to stay dry in the wonderful British weather. You can get some nice plain jackets or colour block ones so again there is something for everyone's style.

Thick Jacket

An absolute essentials here in the UK is a nice thick jacket for the winter as it certainly drops very cold. My go to jacket for years has been a Superdry jacket, one of those with the big collars which keep you nice and warm. This Superdry jacket at the time cost me around about £90 so it was an investment in my opinion however it has lasted me 4 years so far and is still looking like new and keeps me warm so it is worth it. But if I don't want to wear that I can always go for my nice thick Primark jacket that was a bargain price of £10 in the sale and has a bit of a street wear look to it but fits my style really well. If you live anywhere that is cold like here definitely make an investment in a thick coat just to stop you catching colds as often in the winter.

Blazer

I started wearing blazers a few years ago but went off them for a while but I am trying to find a nice fitting one for me as I want to pick one up to smarten some of my looks up. Blazers work well with smart pants or even jeans in some occasions which is actually how I used to wear my blazers. You can get fitted one or oversized ones, plain ones or checked ones there really is something for everyone's style. Got a meeting to head to that requires a smart casual dress code throw on a shirt/plain t-shirt, a blazer, some nice shoes and you are good to go. If you know of anywhere that does great reasonably priced blazers then please let me know.

Bomber Jacket

I actually never bothered with bomber jackets until my dad gave me a Penguin one that he got that didn't fit him. It has now become a bit of a staple in my autumn wardrobe and I love wearing it when I go out and about in the colder weather as it looks perfect layered. Primark & River Island have some great options in store at the moment so it might be worth looking to see if a bomber jacket would suit your style and to be honest I think I might be going and picking up a new one to add to my wardrobe.

Baseball Jacket

Ah the classic American style baseball jacket, another one of my go to jackets in the cooler weather. In my opinion you just can't beat a baseball jacket with a plain t-shirt, pair of skinny jeans or chinos & a pair of Converse, for some reason to me it just pieces together a nice classic look and is super easy to style. Again my favourite is currently a navy blue Penguin baseball jacket with a hint of red and a bold print on the back. I am on the hunt for one a little bit plainer.

So there you have it that is all the jackets you should have in your wardrobe so you have something for every occasion and every weather possibility. What are some of your favourite jackets? Or favourite places to buy them from?

Keep checking back for the next wardrobe essentials post coming soon.

Weekly Round Up #36

Another week done and dusted with more future restrictions being put in place due to the current climate. However, I had a really good week, with plenty of stuff getting done for a change so here is how the week went...

Monday

On Monday, I got up early did a workout then got cracking on with some blog posts and jobs around the house. My mum then asked if I wanted a few hours in town so of course I went ahead with that and manage to make a start on building my autumn wardrobe.

Tuesday

On Tuesday I went out for a walk with my nephew where we went to see the airplanes taking off. It was a lovely day as it was nice and warm too, we had some food out and then went back to my sisters where we ended up out in the garden for a while.

Wednesday

Wednesday was our food shopping day, it was nice having a fully stocked fridge once again. Then it was back down to my sisters to spend the rest of the day with my nephew again, it was quite a nice day so we ended up in the park with him.

Thursday

Thursday I was back in the office and to be honest the day actually flew by. Once I got home from work I actually managed to get a few bits done for the blog, I prefer to do bits every other night but I hadn't done anything since Monday.

Friday

Friday was another day in the office but with the usual Friday early finish. Again though the day seemed to fly by and before I knew it I was back at home working away on some more blog bits.

Saturday

Saturday was a pretty busy day. First my dad came round to help me put up the clothing rail in the spare room & then cut the grass. I then ended up round at my parents to pick up some things I had left behind We then took a trip to Ikea to get some bookcases that we had been after for a while.

Sunday

Sunday was a day at home, I could have easily gone out shopping but instead we stayed in built the bookcases and I spent the day blogging, it is just so nice having time to get plenty done.

So here is what I had been doing last week...

Watching:  It had simply been a week of watching lots of YouTube.

Reading:  I didn't get chance to do do any reading at all last week.

Listening to: I fell back into listening to Alex Lahey last week and it was great listening to those songs that bring back so many memories.

This week I want to get plenty more blogging done. I also want to finish off sorting the bookcases out too & get out to take some blog pictures. One thing I really want to do though is sort through the wardrobe, the top of the wardrobe and the boxes of clothing in the loft as there is so much that I can get rid of. That might be a job for the weekend.

The Classic Sneaker I Will Buy Over & Over Again

Do you ever just look at some sneakers and think why don't I own these? Well that has certainly been the case every time I saw the white Nike Air Force 1's, I was always on the fence of picking up a pair as they are £80 but I finally took the plunge and I am so glad I did.

These sneakers are so versatile they are worth every penny, I have taken a look in my wardrobe and these actually go with 90% of the clothing I own which definitely adds value as they will definitely get plenty of wear. They don't look out of place with my smarter checked pants, my favourite sweatpants or my go to cargo pants which means these have actually become my go to everyday pair of sneakers.

I have had these sneakers a few month so far and to be honest they are still in really good condition, there are a few creases at the front but that is expected when they have been worn practically every day. In terms of scuffs they have so far managed to stay scuff free and that is with me wearing them daily, going on walks, tripping over things and having my nephew stand on them more than once.
The sneakers have been great for long walks and long days out too as they are really comfortable. From day one I have had zero issues with the rubbing or making my feet ache, which for me with any new sneakers is an absolute bonus as some have torn my feet to shreds in the past.

The overall silhouette for this sneaker is just an absolute classic these days and is one you will see a lot of people wearing thanks to the price range and how good the silhouette looks. You could spend over £100 on some sneakers these days but they won't go with all 90% of your wardrobe like these do.

I am actually loving these sneakers so much I have already said that I am going to repurchase them once they get too beat up as they are certainly my favourites. To be honest now I have had them and worn them for a while I don't think the £80 price tag is bad at all because I think if I look after these well enough they are going to last me a while.

What I Got For My Birthday 2020

Well that is it I am an other year older and 25 didn't seem to last 2 minutes. 26 has started off well and I have been well and truly spoilt by my family. My grandparents gave me £50 and my auntie and uncle gave me £20 so that is a £70 head start for me to pick up the new Xbox or PS5. But it didn't stop there I have received some absolutely fantastic gifts that are going to be super useful for me in the long run and here is what those gifts were....

In the games room we have a sofa bed which is looking pretty bare so my auntie and uncle got me 2 PlayStation cushions that are going to look perfect on the sofa bed and are actually really comfortable. I think I could easily fall asleep on these.

To go with the cushions they also got me this matching duvet set which is going to be used in the games room too. We actually have a duvet in there just for those colder gaming days and it comes in really handy so we may as well have a gaming themed cover to go with the room.

Carrying on with the gaming theme they also got me 2 new water bottles as I am trying to increase my water intake these days so these will be perfect for days out or work. Who knows I may even end up taking them to the gym with me too.

Liam has also got me a new game for the PlayStation. When we were out and about he said that this would be a game I really enjoy so I guess I can put it to the test now and see if it is as good for me as he says.

My parents got me this Harry Potter dressing gown which they said is due to it being in the Bradford City colours. I had no idea I was getting this but I am so glad I have as my Assassins Creed one is getting a bit too big for me now.

They also got me some Harry Potter bath bombs as you just can't beat a good bath bomb and I was actually starting to run a bit low of my bath bomb stock. Now I can't wait to use them.

My sister and nephew got me this Toy Story jigsaw which I can't wait to do even though I know it is definitely going to stress me out. My nanna lent me 2 jigsaws that I still need to do but this may have jumped to the top of the list.

You all know by now I am on a fitness and weight loss journey so this shaker from my parents is going to come in handy. It means I can easily mix my protein shake or my BCAA's whilst on the go in other works it is a lazy way of mixing my drink.

My parents also got me this Primark x Lotto t-shirt, which brings back all the nostalgia. My first pair of rugby boots were Lotto so seeing this logo brings back all those memories. I can't wait to get styling this one as I have a few looks in mind.

For Christmas my auntie and uncle got me the Shawn Mendes signature fragrance and for my birthday my sister & nephew got me the signature II fragrance. This smells absolutely gorgeous so I am glad this has been added to my collection.

My sister and nephew have also helped me with one of my goals for the year... adding to my jewellery collection. They got me these 2 gorgeous necklaces which I know I am going to be wearing plenty of so keep an eye on my Instagram to see how I style these, although I am sure they end up being on here quite often.

Finally my parents got me my first pair of classic black Converse. I have been wanting a pair of these for so long so I am so grateful they are finally in my collection as they are going to go with so much of my wardrobe. They are just such a classic shoe and I can't believe it has taken me so long to finally own a pair.

I can't wait to use these presents and I am sure you will see some styling posts in the near future on this blog. What would be your favourite from these gifts?

Weekly Round Up #35

Well that is another weekend done and dusted and it was such a good week. Liam had a few days off to celebrate my birthday, I went to one of my favourite places and just generally had a great week. So here is how the week went...

Monday

Monday was a quick shopping trip to pick up some bits for our little get together on Saturday however, I ended up picking up more cleaning bits than anything else which wasn't exactly the plan. Once I got home it was just a case of relaxing and getting ready for Tuesday.

Tuesday

On Tuesday we went to one of my favourite places... the Deep in Hull, it was a quick visit however, it was great to be back in my favourite place with my nephew looking at all the sharks. We then had a few hours at the seaside, it was a bit of a pre-birthday day out but was absolutely fantastic.

Wednesday

On Wednesday it was my actual birthday, we had a bit of a lie in then we headed off to Bradford to have a quick look around before picking up a Taco Bell which was much needed as it is all I have wanted since March. Once we had done in town it was back home to play on the PS4.

Thursday

Thursday was a cleaning day for me and Liam as we wanted to get the house ready for Saturday. We only did the upstairs though as we had just had enough and wanted to relax for a bit. Which actually meant I spent the rest of the day playing on the PS4 and enjoying each others company.

Friday

On Friday we finished off our cleaning in what felt like record timing,we also went and did the food shop so it was a bit of a busy day. Somehow though we did still manage to find some time to play some games which seems to have taken over our week.

Saturday

Saturday was party day. We had family round and just enjoyed spending time together even if I did drink a little too much. The nephew helped open my presents in his own little way, we ate cake and watched the football there isn't much better than that.

Sunday

Sunday was a day of just relaxing and getting stuff done. After cleaning up what was left from the previous day I ended up taking a few blog pictures, working on a few blog bits and just getting blog things done as I had definitely neglected it this week.

So here is what I had been doing last week...

Watching: I  watched a lot of YouTube throughout the week and a lot of it was Autumn transitional videos which has made me want sort my own wardrobe out.

Reading: I didn't actually read any of my book last week.

Listening to: It was a week of listening to podcasts for me last week as there really are some gems out there.

This week I want to look into scheduling some Instagram posts & creating some Canva graphics to create a bit of a theme with my Instagram as it is something I really want to work on. I want to get back on track with my blogging too and have quite a few pictures I need to take and posts to write across all 3 blogs. Fingers crossed I also get a chance to finally have a clear out of my wardrobe too as it is a job I have put off for far too long.

Styling The Gods Of Basketball T-Shirt

I managed to pick up this fantastic gods of basketball t-shirt from Footlocker in the sale for just £9.99 and it has become one of my go to t-shirts as it is a super comfortable and soft material. The design is pretty simple too with just the big print on the front with a small Footlocker logo on the bottom which to be honest you barely see.

The t-shirt is a really nice fit too, I was a bit apprehensive at first as sometimes these types of t-shirts can have a slim fit to them but this is a size below my normal and fits pretty well although it is on the tighter side at the moment.

I love it when you can wear the same t-shirt in so many different ways throughout different seasons so you get plenty of wear out of it. So here is how I plan on styling my Gods Of Basketball t-shirt...

First up we have the perfect look in my opinion for what is left of the summer and going into next summer. I love how this t-shirt looks with the denim shorts and mid Jordan's. The Jordan's just keep with the basketball look and the denim for the shorts just bring in a different colour but they even tie in a little bit with the blue on the t-shirt.

Next up we have my possibly my favourite outfit as it includes my favourite sneakers... the Air Force 1's. The Air Force 1's being white just adds a little more colour to the outfit and work really well with the black cargo pants. In my opinion this outfit just flows really well.

Switch out those black cargo pants for some lighter grey skinny jeans and you have a brighter but still great look. I have realised over recent years there is no need to only wear black like I used to and that I may as well continue adding colour to my outfits. Grey skinny jeans are a great alternative to black ones and go well with most items.

Now the weather is starting to change and get colder a jacket is an essential so teaming this up with a nice sporty style jacket or zip up hoodie is a perfect pairing. An over the head hoodie just wont do as it would block the t-shirt all together and hide the print where as the zip up one will allow you to show off a small piece of the print of the t-shirt if you wish.

The possibilities are endless with this t-shirt as it is definitely one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe at the moment and I just can't wait to keep styling it with more and more pieces.

How would you style this t-shirt?

Fitness Update For August 2020

To be honest August didn't go too well for me as I actually gained weight however, it was quite expected. I had a weekend away in August and I had quite a few bbq's and drinks on that weekend. Throughout the rest of the month I had quite a few drinks at random too which will have also contributed to the gain.

In terms of working out in August towards the end I did a lot workouts however, at the start I ended up slacking on them though so that will have hindered my progress. I now realise just how important those workouts are going to be on my journey and I need to get back on top of all this.

One thing I have managed to do in August though is keep on top of my steps by going on walks. Never did I think I would enjoy going on walks but to be honest this lockdown situation has really changed my opinion on them and I enjoy them a whole lot more than I used to.

I didn't really keep on top of my measurements for August, but those will be back for September. The few that I did track though were actually decreasing which is brilliant to see especially when other aspects weren't doing too well.

So here is how the weight loss went for August:

Beginning of August weight : 15 stone 8 lb
End of August weight : 15 stone 10 lb

Total loss + 2 lb .

Here is what I am aiming for in September:

Eat a lot better
Cut back on the alcohol again
Go to the gym 3 times a week
Carry on the home workouts
Go on more walks
Incorporate more fruit and veg into diet

Overall 2020 loss so far : - 6 & 3/4 lb

I am hoping that in the next update I will be posting something a lot more positive and typing in a loss rather than a gain but at the end of the day I now realise that months are going to be up and down and I just need to stay on track and work hard to make that difference.

Weekly Round Up #34

What a week last week was, there was plenty of fun but most importantly it was the return of the football. The long awaited return was certainly welcomed in this house but alongside that plenty of other things happened and it was a great week so here is how it went.

Monday

Monday was bank holiday Monday here in the UK and me & Liam just had a nice day in where I got some blogging and gaming done too. It was nice having both of us at home again and just having a nice relaxed day.

Tuesday

Tuesday was a day with my nephew. We nipped into town where I manged to pick up a few bits that I was after. Then it was back to my mum's to spend some more time with the nephew and my mum. When Liam got home then it was just a night of playing games and doing a few blog bits.

Wednesday

Wednesday was food shop day and then staying at my sisters for a few hours before Liam came to pick me up. Once he came to pick me up though it was straight to the gym for our first session back since they reopened. To be honest I actually really enjoyed getting back into the gym and felt really accomplished once I got home.

Thursday

On Thursday I was back in the office so 8 until 5 was spent there then it was home to play some games and just switch off and relax for a change. I actually had a pretty late night on Thursday too thanks to getting lost in my game.

Friday

Friday was another day in the office but as soon as I got home it was basically just a repeat of Friday which was great. I did end up having an earlier night though as I just seemed far too tired.

Saturday

Saturday started off with a lie in for a change, normally I am up super early so just been able to get a few extra hours sleep was great. It was also the start of the FAWSL (women's football) here in the UK so I sat downstairs with my laptop and got a lot of blogging done whilst watching the football. Even when the football was finished I ended up carrying on with my blogging, I certainly was on a roll.

Sunday

Sunday morning was a nice relaxed one before heading off to watch Bradford City Women in their pre-season friendly. It was so good being back in a football stadium and I don't think I realised just how much I missed it. Once I got home it was time to write my match report for my football blog and finish off a few other blog posts.

So here is what I had been doing last week...

Watching: Football is finally back in the watch section after so long and I am so grateful. I also watched plenty of YouTube & Once Upon A Time last week too.

Reading: I managed 1 more chapter of my book and it is so good. I don't actually want to finish it.

Listening to: I had listened to a few podcasts last week but mainly stuck to listening to Tegan & Sara once again.

This week is actually my birthday week so me and Liam have a few days off together but I want to keep being super productive for my blogs and get plenty of content written and ticked off my to do list. I am also hoping we can get plenty of bits done around the house and get rooms nice and tidy too whilst we are both off.

See you soon

August 2020 Favourites

Another month is done and we are so much closer to my favourite time of the year... autumn. I love the autumn weather and how cosy you can get on an evening as the nights get darker and the days get colder. I am so glad is approaching too as August has been a nightmare month with the weather as most of the time it was too hot to do anything or absolutely chucking it down I don't think there was an in between. So here are my favourite things from August...

I picked these up from our local Office shoes store as they had been reduced from over £100 to just £40. I won't say much about these as I actually have a post fully dedicated to them but for £40 they are fantastic. Originally they were bought for the gym but to be honest with how comfortable they are and how good looking they are they might be too good for the gym.

Nike Jacket

The weather has been a nightmare throughout August, it has either been too hot, too cold or warm but raining. That is why my Nike lightweight jacket is on this favourites list as it has been perfect for those rainy days. Unlike other jackets I have had in the past this one has actually kept me dry and even cool on those warmer days. Again there will be a whole post about this jacket coming soon.

Slowly returning to work

Finally after been away from work for so long, we have returned to work 2 days a week. It is nice to be back to some form of routine even if it is just for those 2 days for now as it gives a sense of normality returning. I honestly never thought returning to my job would end up on a favourite list.

Garden being complete

Finally after 2 and a half years we have a garden that looks amazing and is no longer covered in overgrown weeds. Just looking out of the bedroom window and seeing the garden now is great, it looks huge too. There are just a few small finishing touches to add to it like furniture and plants but the difference is incredible.

Making progress

There is only one favourite in this category as to be honest this is the one that is really blowing me away... making progress. Throughout August I have noticed my measurements decrease in some areas, my heart rate is improving too and I can walk so much further than before. Then we also have the fact my clothes are also starting to look bigger on me and those that were a bit tight on me seem to be fitting better too.

So there you have it those are my favourites from August. What are your favourites from August 2020?
